I worked with the marketing and executive teams at The Judge Group, a technology, talent and learning solutions company headquartered in Wayne, Pennsylvania, to create a new library of corporate photography for the company’s website and marketing campaigns.
The one-day assignment included executive headshots photographed on a white seamless background along with workplace and corporate lifestyle photography featuring employees collaborating throughout the office. With a large shot list, multiple groups and a tight schedule, advance planning was an important part of the production.
Planning the Production
With numerous employees, locations and setups to coordinate in a single day, we scheduled a location scout before the shoot. The goal was to identify the strongest environments for the workplace photography, determine where the headshot studio could be built and work through the logistics of each setup before the photography day.
For each planned scenario, we considered what the company wanted the photograph to communicate, who needed to be involved, what props or equipment were required and where the scene could be photographed effectively. We also looked for interesting architecture, available light and perspectives that could give each setup its own character while keeping the overall image library visually consistent.
After the scout, we developed a production plan with location references, a shot schedule and the information needed to coordinate the client, crew and employees throughout the day.
Headshots & Workplace Photography
The first half of the shoot was devoted to executive and business headshots using a white seamless background. Keeping the lighting and background consistent gave The Judge Group a uniform set of portraits that could be used across its website, communications and marketing materials.
In the afternoon, we moved throughout the office creating workplace photography with employees in a variety of collaborative scenarios. Because the locations, participants and schedule had already been planned, we could move efficiently between setups while still leaving room for natural interactions and unexpected photographs.
Corporate Photography for Teams & Workplaces
Assignments like this are often about creating more than a handful of individual photographs. By producing headshots, workplace imagery and environmental photography together, a company can build a consistent library of images for its website, marketing, recruiting, communications and PR.
I photograph companies, executives and teams throughout the Philadelphia area, working directly with marketing departments and creative teams to plan productions ranging from company-wide headshot programs to multi-day corporate photography assignments.
