Behind the Shoot


The direction for the shoot was to create classic, natural portraits that felt connected to Lisa and the place she calls home. A pre-production scout of the 40-plus-acre property gave us the opportunity to explore the farmhouse, guest house, horse barns and surrounding landscape and determine the strongest locations before shoot day.


When we returned in October, we moved through the locations selected during the scout, combining the character of the property with carefully planned lighting and portrait setups. Working with a small crew for lighting, digital capture and grooming allowed us to create a varied collection of portraits while maintaining a consistent look throughout the assignment.
