Executive Portraits With More Context

Executive portraits often need to do more than provide a current photograph. They may need to communicate leadership, personality or a sense of place while still working within an established brand or creative direction.

I photograph executives in offices, architectural spaces and other relevant environments, as well as against clean or constructed backgrounds. Depending on the assignment, we can create several setups during the same session to provide options for websites, annual reports, editorial features, advertising and other communications.

Executive Portrait FAQs

What’s the difference between an executive portrait and a professional headshot?

A professional headshot is typically designed to create a consistent, recognizable image for a company website, LinkedIn profile or directory. Executive portraits allow for more creative direction, environmental context and variety. A session may include multiple locations, lighting setups and compositions depending on how the photographs will be used.

Executive Portrait FAQs

Do we need to have a creative direction in place before the shoot?

Not at all. Some clients come with an established concept or detailed creative brief, while others look to me for recommendations. I can help determine the approach, locations, backgrounds, lighting and types of portraits that will work best for the assignment and how the images will be used.

Executive Portrait FAQs

Can we create several different portraits during one session?

When the schedule and location allow, I often photograph multiple setups during an executive session. This might include environmental portraits, tighter compositions and cleaner headshot-style images, giving your team a broader selection for different applications.

Executive Portrait FAQs

Do you help determine the best location for an executive portrait?

Location planning can be part of the pre-production process. I can review location photographs or scout in advance when needed to determine which offices, architectural spaces or exterior locations will work best for the subject and intended use.
