I worked with Philadelphia creative agency 20nine to create a new library of corporate photography for technology company Zonoff as part of a company rebrand and website launch.
The assignment included environmental executive portraits, consistent seamless-background portraits for PR and communications, and workplace photography showing employees collaborating throughout the office. With several different types of photography to accomplish in a single production day, planning the locations, lighting and schedule in advance was an important part of the assignment.
Planning a Multi-Setup Corporate Shoot
A location scout ahead of the shoot allowed us to plan where the seamless portraits would be photographed and identify potential settings for each of the six executives. Rather than photographing every executive in the same environment, Zonoff wanted each portrait to have its own setting, making advance scouting especially useful for keeping the shoot moving efficiently.
The workplace photography was intentionally less structured. We identified the kinds of moments we wanted to capture—employees collaborating around computers, meetings, conversations in common areas and everyday activity throughout the office—while leaving room to photograph genuine interactions as they happened.
Zonoff’s team gave us plenty to work with. The office included lounges and collaborative spaces alongside some less traditional workplace amenities—scooters, ping pong, Nerf darts and even beer on tap. Those details helped create workplace photographs that reflected the actual personality of the company rather than a generic office environment.
We also photographed each executive against a seamless background, creating a consistent set of portraits the company could use for PR, communications and other applications.
Corporate Photography for People & Workplaces
Corporate photography assignments can require several different types of imagery from a single production—from executive portraits and professional headshots to workplace photography and candid company culture. Planning those pieces together helps create a broader, more consistent image library for websites, marketing, communications and PR.
I photograph executives, teams and workplaces for companies and creative agencies throughout the Philadelphia area and beyond.
